I live down a quiet country lane, where, in the summer, the verges are filled with swathes of green and creamy white Cow Parsley and wild flowers. These are the inspiration for my lamps. I wanted to bring nature indoors and capture that fleeting summer moment forever. I picked and pressed barley into slabs of clay, then fired them as press moulds. This gives a very realistic texture to the finished pieces. Thrown and altered stoneware lampbase with relief barley decoration. Washed with copper oxide and glazed in Natural White. Fired to 1280℃ in a gas reduction kiln. Lead free glazes. Gas reduction fired to I use good quality plastic fitting and a long 5-6ft flex with in-line switch and fitted plug, PAT tested. Bayonet fitting for bulb. Note: Lampshade is not included.
